My internship with Paxlegal: A Summer to remember...

Our internship with Paxlegal this Summer was an amazing experience which has significantly shaped our professional and personal growth. The diverse opportunities offered by the program have been incredible, equipping us with a variety of transferable skills that will undoubtedly benefit our future. Additionally, our supervisor, Barbara, as well as the rest of the team, went above and beyond to welcome us into the office from day one.

Our time spent at the office was extremely rewarding and provided valuable hands-on experience within the legal field. We were involved in various tasks including documenting client information, creating brochures, reviewing the website, assisting with social media platforms and the creation of business videos. Additionally, we participated in useful courses such as public speaking, time management and business tools, all of which improved our professional skillset.  Each day brought new learning opportunities and the variety of tasks developed our creativity and adaptability skills.

In addition to these tasks, a standout highlight of the internship was the Summer Happening day. This included paintballing and surfing lessons, followed by a delicious seafood lunch on the beach. The entire day was incredibly enjoyable and offered a fun opportunity for us to socialize and become more familiar with the team outside of the office.  

Another unforgettable experience were the trips to Plural TV studios, TVi studios (home of CNN’s production in Portugal) and O Jornal Económico. These visits offered a fascinating insight into the world of journalism and broadcasting, providing us with valuable knowledge of the industry. We explored media areas relating to the process of production, content creation, reporting, writing and publishing. Having the opportunity to learn about these different areas was very rewarding and provided a clear perspective on potential career paths within media and communications.

An enjoyable tradition at Paxlegal was the weekly Wednesday lunches. These lunches allowed the team to unwind and connect with one another in a relaxed environment, which built a great sense of community and made us feel right at home.

Overall, our internship at Paxlegal was a fantastic experience which has facilitated our personal and professional growth. The supportive team, well-organized events and diverse tasks all contributed to a fun and enriching internship. While we are sad to see this chapter come to an end, we are very grateful to have gained new skills, fond memories and a new network of great people!
